A Hot and Sticky Stroll on the 606 Trail in Chicago

Waking up to another humid day in Chicago with predicted temps of 28 degrees, we knew we had to make the most of our morning before the heat became unbearable. So, we loaded up on breakfast at a local deli and caught the CTA out to the suburbs to hit the 606 trail for a refreshing morning walk.
When you’re not used to subways it can be daunting but Chicagos system seems relatively easy. Tap your phone to pay the fee and away you go. I know you have to tap out on London but don’t think you do here…..hope not anyway or it’s still charging to my account. For some reason I am getting a notification to say declined payment but it is taking £1.91 so who knows what’s happening, at least we are getting where we want to go.
The 606 is a nice walk. We walked to the end and found nothing there so had to walk back again. To be honest a bit fed up on way back as was very hot and our feet were killing. The walk itself is really interesting as you go through all suburban areas, I’m so nosey I love looking at houses, gardens etc. lots of people on the trail as well but after nearly 8 miles walked so far today I was ready to swing at Matthew for suggesting this.
Back to the hotel to cool off before meandering around the city some more. It does feel a safe City. Some homeless and weirdo’s hanging around but not to the point that they hassle people. We have created a new game of nutter bingo to see how many/what outrageous things we observe and point it out to each other by saying Bingo. List so far:
1. Homeless guy giving himself a hand shandy without a care in the world.
