Setting Sail with First Impressions

An early start for embarkation day as they collected our cases at 7am from our room. At 11am we set off for the boat, it amused me that the guide made us walk the long way to the bus to avoid steps and then the first 6 rows were kept free for in her term "special needs". Although once on the boat the age is more mixed than on our bus.

During the coach ride and in the queue to the boat we spoke to a couple from Canada. They were in their 80s and lovely people. In general so far people have been brilliant and really friendly. As Karen says like walking in Yorkshire with people stopping for a chat or hello. Just a couple of people who are keener to talk at us rather than chat! Also a few very entitled people complaining about daft things!

Food vs. Health

The boat seems great so many things to do. I signed up for a spin class it wasn't called that so a bit more extreme than I expected it was also good to see a more mixed age group. Myself and Karen have also done a pilates session and we are booked for more.

The food has been really good a really varied choice. In awareness of the food and drink and amounts we are having the exercise classes are needed and have also been completing the walk/laps around the boat.

We have kept to fruit, yoghurt and cereal for breakfast which we had delivered and enjoyed on our balcony.

Talking to the Dolphins in the sea

Whilst walking we saw a pod of dolphins swimming and jumping out of the water which impressed us as we didn't expect them this close to the boat.

We've joined in with the quiz today as well as catching up with our washing. It currently seems a bit like Butlins on the sea and for older people with nicer food/drink selections.

Our blogs may be less frequent whilst we're on the ship as if not may just list all we eat and drink, we think that list might scare us. At the minute Karen is just picking the dearest drink within our package on the menu for each meal and loving that it's free for us. The novelty of ordering on the app and it being delivered to you where you are hasn't worn off yet either.....having to go to a bar/move is so last year.
