A, B to C Walk
We've had another two days in Sydney and the weather has been great. Although a bit hot walking!
The first day we caught a bus out to Bondi and walked along the coast path to Coogee. The scenery was amazing cliffs, beaches and bays. There is also a cemetery at Clovelly with lots of famous Australians buried. Although we didn't recognise any of the names, the headstones and monuments were impressive. It was an amazing setting for the cemetery at the top of the cliff.
The walk was popular in places and quiet in others so a good mix. Although you don't need a map we used Clinton's Kuratour App as we were walking, which gave some decent detail about each of the places. There is also a Sydney pub crawl on the App but so far not been drinking at all, initially as a break after the cruise but partly as Karen is full of cold so not felt like going out for a session.
We caught the bus then tram back from Coogee to Sydney and passed the Sydney Cricket Ground but Karen didn't let me get off!
We treated ourselves for tea as there is a dominoes pizza shop a few yards from the hotel They had a Tuesday offer so 2 large pizzas and 2 sides for £14!
That's very Manly
Today we caught the ferry across to Manly, this gave us a really close up view of the Opera House. Another hot day and another coastal walk. Lots of seagulls but also saw lots of Bush Turkeys and some Water Dragons! The scenery has been spectacular again. The walk wasn't too long but the heat and the ups and downs meant we were ready for lunch and had fish and chips which was good but maybe not up to some of the cod we get in the UK.
A Bit of Culture
We finished the day at Sydney Opera House, it was an amazing experience to be in the venue and the music we heard, Mahler's 3rd, was amazing. When we tried for tickets initially could only find them at the back of the concert hall but then found the Symphony's own website and manages to get 2 on the front row overlooking the stage. It was an amazing experience and being close enough to see the sheet music and follow all the sounds was incredible. After this needed to end the night with some fancy food or maybe not as we went to McDonald's!
