Bendigo with Conor and Sarah

Leaving Syndey and G'Day Bendigo
We had a last (rainy) morning in Syndey then flew to Bendigo to catch up with Conor and Sarah. We've enjoyed Syndey, less expensive than we expected and very friendly, easy to walk around.
Public transport to the airport is supposed to be easy but we couldn't be bothered and went to Uber instead. The taxi had a gas tank in the boot, the taxi driver told us he converted the car to lpg to make it more economical!
A very small plane but the security for an internal flight was good as they found a pair of nail scissors in my hand luggage. I dread to think how many borders I've been through with those! The airport at Bendigo is small but still took an age to get our bags through. Was good to see Conor and Fin waiting for us.
Kanga Bats
Their house is amazing and they have a great pool. Their hospitality has been fantastic as well. We spent an evening catching up and then had a drive round the area. Bendigo is a lovely town on the way we saw some kangaroos, then in the town some massive fruit bats.
The area is really dry and we saw a sign saying it was a no fires day with temperature hitting 36 degrees, which includes bbqs which is bizarre for Australia. Lots of nice towns nearby amd lovely scenery. We tried to stop at a vineyard but it was shut for a private do!
So we came back and drank Conor and Sarah's wine and swam in the pool so a brilliant day. Fingers crossed for a barbie tomorrow so we can throw a shrimp on it Sheila.
