Discovering Serenity: A Walk in the National Park

First Thing Avoid the Scams
Rainmaker Park was a private nature area. Today we visited Manuel Antonio National Park. It was the first time we saw or read about any scams in Costa Rica with people trying to charge for parking by waving cars down before the free parking area, as well as people with lanyards acting as officials!
Walking in Manual Antonio National Park
The entrance was only 5 minutes from the hotel so we walked and decided that $20 each for a guide was a bit too much. We'd had guides in the other places so felt we knew what to look for!
The park was amazing, it is a mix of rainforest and idyllic beaches. Despite its popularity the size means you can get place on your own or with only a few other people. After some time on the beach we headed up a quiet path and the trees above were suddenly full of monkeys. They came really close which was a bit worrying, another couple came along the path and it felt amazing the 4 of us and all the monkeys.
After a couple of hours we left the park, to get so water and on the way out walked past 3 deer on the path.
A few more animals
The park was great just for a walk, seeing the animals added to the morning. We also saw lots of red crabs, a couple of sloths, an iguana as well as more monkeys.
Typically after walking in the heat and sunshine our afternoon of sun bathing was under cloudy skies!
