Exploring Rainmaker Park and avoiding the bullet (ant)

Welcome to Rainmaker Park!
After a lazy day we set off for Rainmaker Park. The minibus collected us at 10am, we had decided against an 8am start. We had booked a general tour but were the only people so had our own private guide. He was incredibly enthusiastic and helped make it a great half day.
We didn't really know what to expect other than suspension and rope bridges which would lead to waterfalls. We opted for sandals, shorts and tees so slightly concerned when our guide was wearing wellington boots, long trousers and long sleeves! He then warned us about poison snakes and spiders, we also had to sign a crazy disclaimer.
The walk was great, quite hard work up loads of steps so we could then walk across some very wobbly bridges in the rainforest canopy. The views were stunning and the pools at the bottom of waterfalls amazing. Karen on the way up was secretly cursing at Matthews back as hates heights and steps.
We didn't see many animals but even if the guide had pointed them out, I think we were too busy watching where we stepped or putting our hands. Apparently there is a giant ant, whose bite is ten times more painful than a scorpion's. It's called a bullet ant as it makes a clicking sound when it bites!
Enjoying the Beach Vibes
We survived the walk, although lost several pints of water through sweat. Despite hating walking across the wobbly bridges Karen also had fun.
An afternoon on the beach was our reward.
For those who love water activities, the beach here is perfect for swimming, beach volleyball, and even some paddleboarding if you're seeking a little thrill. The gentle sounds of the waves create a soothing backdrop, making it an oasis for relaxation and fun. Pack a picnic and spend the day by the water!
Dining at Baldi’s Restaurant
We returned to Baldi's for tea and this time he let us try his homemade chilli sauce. It was pretty hot. He's a great host and seemed delighted we both had the local casado to eat. Not bald though.
