Facebook Infamy In Darwin

We had a morning booking hotels and travel arrangements for our next destinations and are slowly filling in the gaps. We also want to reduce the amount we are carrying as in some countries our 23kg allowance reduces to 20kg. This means sending more processions (and souvenirs) home. This was incredibly complicated as we had to list everything individually using and online form and include value and weight. Luckily the hotel leant us some scales and then Karen did the online form!
Lights Out? As We Return the Van
We also decided to take the van back. This involved a shock as we learnt the guy who drove into is claiming it was our fault as we weren't indicating and had no break lights. This is bit different to what he said at the time. He has also posted on Facebook including a video from after the accident which includes me and Karen. This was whilst he was still stuck in his van. This has had over 1.7 million views and a lot of comments.
Although most question him, it is very weird to see comments about ourselves by people we don't know. Its amazing how people can assume whatever they like, one even claimed we were typical Americans. It's very hard not to respond to some, especially those which question me being on the phone whilst he is stuck in the vehicle and that we were more concerned with our vehicles damage. Both me and Karen checked on his well-being several times and I was on the phone to get the emergency services so he could get out of the car. We won't become keyboard warriors and will leave it with the rental company to sort out. It’s so hard to take the stance of not defending ourselves. Annoyingly we have to wait for this to be resolved before our deposit/excess is returned.
