Going Tuk Tuk in Thailand

Easy Travels

We left Tokyo and headed to Chiang Mai in Thailand. We flew to Bangkok and had a 4 hour wait for our next flight. I had been dreading Bangkok airport as been told it was chaos however it was one of the easiest transfers yet and amazingly quick immigration. They gave us a sticker without too much explanation luckily I kept mine on and when we got to Chiang Mai we were directed to 9nternational baggage, picked our bags up and then found our lift to the hotel. Tuk Tuk Experience: All Good Man!

Tuk Tuk...Tick Tick

This morning we met the rest of the group, we are feeling young as the next youngest is 70. The group seem very nice but we are trying to ignore some of the right wing/racist views from some of them! Will put it down to their age!

We had a trip out into the Tuk Tuks and also got a chance to drive eventhouhgh we aren't driving on the tour. Karen picked it up quickly but my long legs made it quite difficult not to be constantly braking.

On the drive to a temple we passed lots of farms, in one they were in the water with machetes cutting water spinach in the next using drones to spray crops. Seemed a brilliant contrast. The temple was fantastic, a rural temple with not much nearby. A weird opposite to Japan as we were the only tourists there!

So far we've been really impressed by the company and tour. All the drivers speak English and seems like a guide for each couple. All these guides are friendly. There are simple things done well which bodes well for the rest of the trip; in each tuk tuk there is insect repellent and hand sanitiser plus an ice box. They also gave us all a refillable water bottle and large flannel. Putting the flannel in the icebox then on your neck is amazing ,especially as it's 36C. We've also had 2 great meals in the first day.
