Nine Arches, One Peak

Blue Train Tickets
A good day today around Ella. We started by buying tickets for tomorrow's train journey the train to get on is the blue train and our tickets are blue so fingers crossed.
Around Ella
Next was the 9 Arch Bridge. This involved a precarious 1km walk and a pattern is developing that our guide points us in the right direction and stays at the car whilst we hopefully make it there and back or with the correct train tickets! The bridge was impressive made just before WW1, Sri Lanka Labour and British design.
After this another waterfall but close to the road and this time the guide joined for a little while. We met a Catholic group from Jaffna where are visiting later in in the holiday and the priest invited us to come and see him. The guide has the church details.
Then we, me and Karen, then walked up Little Adam's Peak, mainly steps but very steep and mostly no hand rails. The views from the top were fantastic and worth the sweaty state we were in.
Road Sense
The driving in Sri Lanka although at times interesting does seem more western than the chaos of Laos and Cambodia. The driver has been chatty today and I think getting better at understanding each other. When I mentioned my last job he told us about his brother in law who moved to London as a student and when he applied to stay permanently said he was gay, he wasn't, and would face persecution if sent home.
Romantic Meal and Soundclash
Another nice meal tonight at the allegedly romantic One Love Cafe. No dessert or cocktails so cheaper as well!
Today at the hotel we had a soundclash, as we could hear a sound system warming up we guessed for a music event with some deep reggae and the local church service booming out on their loudspeakers. The church won that battle.
